What is the job about?
Wholesale and foreign trade merchants buy goods and sell them to retail, craft or industrial companies (business to business). They provide their customers with comprehensive information about the range of goods and services and advise them on product range design. You observe the market, identify sources of supply, compare prices, create offers and order goods. They also negotiate delivery dates and conditions, conclude transport contracts, handle customs formalities, monitor shipments and process payment transactions. You plan all purchasing, logistics and sales processes and control the flow of data and goods from ordering to delivery. They use various procurement and sales channels, especially online channels, and handle electronic business processes (e-business). You carry out incoming goods inspections, check the delivery documents, arrange and monitor the storage and shipping of the goods. They also take on controlling and marketing tasks and participate in cross-company projects.

You install and configure programs or operating systems, check components, develop device documentation or create layouts. In addition, they take care of the procurement of components and operating resources and support technicians or engineers in the implementation of orders. You plan production processes, set up production and testing machines and participate in quality assurance. They also create system documentation and production documents. Maintenance and repairs also fall into their area of responsibility. In customer service and when repairing devices, electronics engineers for devices and systems limit the sources of errors and replace defective parts. They also advise customers and instruct users on how to use the devices.
